Burlington Air National Guard Base

At Burlington, our primary mission is the Fighter mission, which involves air-to-air and air-to-ground operations designed to support ground forces and to gain control of enemy airspace. In addition we perform Explosive Ordnance Disposal.

158th Fighter Wing

The first to provide security over New York on 9/11, the 158th Fighter Wing was organized on July 1st 1945 - the fifth Air Guard unit to be formed. The 158th mission is to provide the U.S. Air Force with combat-ready personnel and equipment for utilization during times of war and natural emergency. The 158th Fighter Wing's airmen serve, protect, and defend the citizens of our communities, state, and nationa, ensuring our security and preserving freedom.
