The Illinois Air National Guard has three main bases across the state located in Belleville, Peoria and Springfield. They perform ten unique missions training and preparing the citizen-airman to respond to the Governor of Illinois for state emergencies or the call of the President in times of crisis.

Illinois state colleges offer Air Guard members up to 100% tuition assistance for four years of full-time attendance or the equivalent of part-time attendance.
Illinois Air Guard members on state-summoned active duty get full medical, dental and hospital benefits if injured in the line of duty, as well as $50,000 compensation to the beneficiary of your choice for those killed in action.
Illinois state employees that join the Air Guard get 15 days military leave per year. Illinois Air Guard members also get exclusive access to distinctive auto plates.
State Tax Advantage
Illinois Air Guard retirees are exempt from paying state income tax on their military retirement pay.
