The Alabama Air National Guard has three main bases across the state located in Birmingham, Dothan and Montgomery. They perform six unique missions training its members to be mission-ready forces to respond to the Governor of Alabama for state emergencies or the call of the President in times of crisis.

Alabama Air National Guard members who have served for a period of two years immediately preceding the student qualifying for resident tuition, and who are continuing service in the Air Guard while enrolled at a Alabama public institution of higher education, qualify for in-state tuition.
Alabama Air Guard members get full medical coverage for any injury or illness incurred in the line of duty.
