Fire Protection Specialists in the Air National Guard are fully trained and ready to deal with a variety of materials in unique environments. You may battle a forest fire in the Northwest, or a hazardous material fire overseas, or even burning rocket fuel in flight. Your mission is to be there to prevent the loss of life and property from fire. You'll be trained in the principles and operations of fighting fires in buildings, aircraft, wild land, and more. You'll be taught, and subsequently receive, Red Cross certification in standard first aid and CPR as well. Fire Protection Specialists will coordinate with local and regional fire departments, and in some cases, may assist the civilian population near your base. You will be one of the more critical members of the Air National Guard team.
