As an Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems Specialist, you'll work on maintaining and repairing that wiring along with the electrical components of your aircraft. Your attention-to-detail and knowledge will help maintain critical aircraft systems, such as landing gear, anti-skid, steering, engine control, ignition, lighting, warning, flight control, cabin pressurization, air conditioning, and more. You'll learn to read blueprints, schematics and to inspect and evaluate aircraft electrical systems to ensure they are fully operational. This career field is crucial, as the difference between success and failure could be the difference between life and death.
