Combat Communications Mission
When military operations around the world need to get their communications up and running, the Air Guard Combat Communication mission makes it happen. This mission deploys, operates and maintains strategic emergency communications. It also plays a critical peacetime role during state-declared emergencies, this mission provides vital communications and other needed assistance.
Combat Control Mission
The mission of a combat controller is to deploy undetected into combat and hostile environments to establish assault zones or airfields, while simultaneously conducting air traffic control, fire support, command and control, direct action, counter-terrorism, foreign internal defense, humanitarian assistance and special reconnaissance in the joint arena. Combat Controllers are Battlefield Airmen assigned to special tactics squadrons. They are trained special operations forces and certified Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controllers.
Homeland Response Force
The Homeland Response Force provides life-saving capabilities within 6-12 hours of a chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear event. Each HRF assists civil authorities in saving lives. Whether you are extracting someone from the rubble of a fallen building, or providing medical care to a wounded civilian or airmen, you will be responsible for keeping yor community and your country safe during their greatest time of need.
Predator Mission
The Predator might be an unmanned aircraft, but it takes a team of highly trained Airmen to make its missions successful. The Predator's pilot can be located literally anywhere in the world. Predators can gather information and attack enemies with minimal danger to our troops. Missions include close air support, air interdiction, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR).
Reaper Mission
The Reaper mission lives up to its name. This unmanned aircraft provides a unique capability to find and eliminate high-value, time-sensitive targets. The Reaper is also used to collect intelligence.
Rescue Mission
Whether by air, land, or sea, this Special Operations mission is charged with getting personnel out of danger and into safety. With its emergency medical capabilities, this rescue mission operates in both humanitarian and combat environments. They enter restricted environments to treat and retrieve injured personnel, while evading enemies. Their critical wartime and peacetime responsibilities include search and rescue, combat search and rescue, and recovery support for NASA.
Sentry/Surveillance Mission
This intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission knows the enemy's location and activities. The Sentry and Surveillance mission tracks enemy behavior and movement, and decodes their communications to intercept their plans, strategies and resources.
Tactical Air Control Party Mission
Advise, assist, control is the motto of this elite force protecting America and its allies in the global war on terrorism. After successfully mastering the required skills of this special operations mission, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Airmen earn the right to wear the coveted black beret. This mission provides numerous critical functions on the modern battlefield, including advising ground forces on aircraft deployment and capabilities, coordinating and controlling aerospace operations, and participating in battle planning.
